The Power of Praise By Brenda Drake

I heard a saying a long while ago that has stuck to me all these years.  It was “Praise the Lord anyway” I have and I do.  I have found that in the middle of a problem if I stop and make a concerted effort to lift up praise to the God that is in control when I am out of control, before I know it my heart has been strengthened to face whatever issue needing to be faced.

The Power of Praise

Your words of praise are like a whip,
It lashes the enemy plans to bits.
The power of praise is great.
It breaks down walls of fear, strife, and hate.
True praise and worship is like a mighty wind;
It blows away the debris my friend.
When life has you hemmed in and you feel trapped,
And when all you see is black,
Take your Bible in your hand,
Find a scripture-promise as God has planned.
Then in faith raise your voice in song.
Allow the Spirit to make you strong.
Watch the heavy clouds lift off of you,
And feel God’s joy within to move,
The Word along with praise to God above,
Is a double portion of love.
God loved enough to give His Word to you,
And when you love enough you to give it back to Him too.
The enemies cower, frightened by its strength;
They are unable to stand in its presence; they wither and shrink.
Use my gift (the Word) in your praise,
Place it also in your prayers in Jesus’ name.

2 Chronicles 20:22
And when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.
