On The Wings of Glory By Brenda Drake

Oh the pleasures of the presence of God utilizing the wonderful provision of prayer.

JESUS HOLY SPIRIT

On the Wings of Glory

On the wings of glory, I fly above,
Into the presence of my Father’s love.
I soar above the problems and the earth’s stain,
And in a heavenly place I remain.
Comfort so gentle; as soft as down;
The perfect place of peace my heart has found.
Strength is renewed; as I rest in this glory land,
I’m molded and shaped by the Father’s hand.
My mind is directed to soundness again,
As it is filled with sweet thoughts of Him.
Every fiber of my being drinks from the River of life,
As I soak up the presence of the Christ.
Songs of worship follow the words of praise,
That the willing mouth speaks to the One that saves.
I’m full and satisfied with the sweet bread of life,
Every dark corner within is infused with His light.
A sweet pleasing aroma fills every breath I take;
I’m fully alive, every part of me awake.
On the wings of glory I return to earth’s realm again;
Fully committed, to serve my Master, my Lord, and my friend.
On His wings of glory  the Holy Spirit helps me through each day.
He sends His ability and His power to guide and to help  me as I pray.

John 4:24
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Psalms 16:11
Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

The Seeking Heart’s Great Desire By Brenda Drake

The Seeking Heart’s Great Desire

It is a busy world with so much to do;
My goal Lord is to spend quality time with you.
In all my obligations it is hard to find,
The sweet place where only You fill my mind.
It is a desire so great I ask in this prayer to Thee,
Arrange and provide a perfect time for us to meet,
Just You and I; with our hearts fully in-tune and in accord.
Where my heart is freed to worship and peace is in my mind restored.
Help me Lord, to learn to be disciplined in such a way,
That You are always the first meeting in my day.
Arrange my to-do-list so it gets done in the way best.
It is my great desire to in Your strength and ability rest
And then when my day is over and I finally lay down to sleep,
To in confidence I know,  Jesus, my Greatest Desire, my soul keeps.

Psalms 21:2
Thou hast given him his heart’s desire,
and hast not withholden the request of his lips

Who Points the Condemning Finger? By Brenda Drake

Who Points the Condemning Finger?

Who points the unforgiving, condemning finger and laughs at your mistakes?
Who is it that is thrilled when someone’s heart breaks?
It is not your God above,
He looks upon you with unlimited love.
He is so sensitive He feels everything you feel.
His love immediately desires to heal.
He does not laugh at calamity; He stands ready to assist,
He is desirous to assure you so His provisions you will not miss.
When you are disobedient; He corrects it is true;
But always discern He desires only the best for you.
He does not correct with hatred upon His face.
He is a good, caring God that wraps in His embrace.
The enemy’s blows are sometimes perceived as coming from above.
The enemy desires to destroy, whereas God desires to restore with love.
God molds and shapes as you yield to His sovereign hand.
This word is delivered so you will understand,
If you are living the best you know to do,
And a strike comes, it is not God condemning you.
You can depend on and have faith in God’s love and care;
To assist you to be formed like Jesus true and fair.
Every situation is under God’s watchful eye, but my friend,
Not every storm that touches your life is because you have sinned.
Who points the unforgiving, condemning finger I again ask?
Know, it is not your Lord; in His convictions, He beckons to come back.

Romans 8:1
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Follow Me By Brenda Drake

John 12:26
If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

            I follow hard after my Lord, trying always to watch for the tell-tale signs of traveling the wide highways of the world.  If I get too comfortable and overly concerned with my own agenda, I know I need to re-evaluate my life.  The Word of God is my roadmap, and the light that shows the footsteps of the One I serve.

Follow Me

Follow me, says the Father in the footsteps of the Son;
As you flow in the Spirit we get the good work done.
Be as trusting as a child as you obey,
Fully confident you will on the right path stay.
With faith and trust in the One you adore,
Wearing the armor supplied by the Lord,
The way is cleared and the enemy takes flight.
For you are surrounded and covered by God’s favor and light.
Keep your eyes on the Truth; He is the Way and He is Life.
No matter the surroundings, keep the Word in sight.
Seek the Word, speak the Word, and draw the Word near.
In prayer and in deeds, live it; loud and clear.
To love God is to love life.
To love your neighbor is to love Christ.
Come; let us continue on this journey of the heart.
Fully rest, in your Savior, who has wooed you from the start.
There is a work to be done, but He is your strength within.
You will draw and encourage others to their journey begin.
To believe on the name of Jesus; the One that sets them free,
To hear God’s call saying “ Come; Follow Me.”

Prayer
There was no greater invitation.  There is no greater plan.  There is no god like my God. Keep me safe in Your hands, fulfilling Your will for me in every way.

Faith in Tomorrow’s Sunshine By Brenda Drake

Faith in Tomorrow’s Sunshine

This year is past; I leave behind all its trouble and pain.
Looking in faith at tomorrow’s sunshine and protection from life’s rains.
With renewed hope in God’s provisions,
And with sweet assurance of His help in all life’s decisions.
Our New Year resolutions are numerous that many last,
A couple of days, or even a few weeks perhaps.
But when we dedicate just one day at a time,
To live the good way God designed;
Even if we fail, when the next day starts,
It is another new day God provide for the journey of the heart.
One day at a time; doing our very best,
Each day repenting of the sin confessed.
Loving God by loving our neighbor, shining out His light
Each added into yet another year in service to Jesus Christ.

What A Year By Brenda Drake

What a Year

What a year has just passed by
When our hearts could sing and other times it cried.
There were high times and low times too
Some days seemed to drag and yet it seems the year almost flew.
Heroes were born and some of them fell low.
Progress is made, and yet we have a long way to go.
I look ahead with confidence and hope to see,
Faith restored in the land of the free.
I pray for peace and for wisdom to reign in the land.
I pray the importance of God’s help all will understand.
As the days in our new year ahead unfold
Lord I pray we will gather the new nuggets of gold.
And learn to lift up and release the shards, thorns, pains, and shame;
So when this next  year ends just thanks and praise remains.

Jeremiah 29:11-14
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.  Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.  And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

Some Hearts Cry at Christmastime By Brenda Drake

Some Hearts Cry at Christmastime

Some hearts cry at this time of year.
The Christmas Spirit is  unable to come near.
The reasons are many but the results the same.
The aching, bleeding hearts are held in different chains.
A past sad memory revisits the mind;
Hampering, present joy at Christmastime.
Pray for the apparent ones melancholy you see and hear.
Pray the bindings in their hearts disappear.
Pray the hurts heal and they are set free again,
To the celebrations of life enter in.
Gifts are abundantly with each other shared;
But, empathy, understanding, and the forgiving prayer,
Are the gifts you also give to Christ.
For He so desires to bring joy into their life.
If, you are the one sad, and hurt, with an attitude sour to taste,
God wishes to sweeten your life in His loving embrace.
If the one celebrating with joy, peace and goodwill Christ’s birth,
Remember to be watchful for the heart that hurts.
Send Me a gift in your petition for them,
So they can enjoy the Christmas season again.

Matthew 11:28-29
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

The Most Costly Gift By Brenda Drake

The Most Costly Gift

A gift so precious, the value is unmeasured;
So wonderful is this greatest treasure.
This gift is life eternal with compassion forevermore.
It moves from poverty to a joint heir with the Lord.
Born of a virgin pure, the Son of God sent from above,
Willingly came to die to show the Father’s love.
What man would turn such love away?
Who would choose to their own debt of sin pay?
Only a very foolish man,
Decides to reject God’s Holy plan.
Christmastime celebrates the Savior’s birth; although many don’t believe,
They still exchange gifts, but the best gift they do not receive.
Jewels, fine clothing, and perfume costing much,
Is really nothing when measured with God’s love.
Remember Jesus; the Jewel of heaven, on Christmas day.
He is the Righteous Robe that a saved soul arrays.
He is the sweetest odor that causes angels to sing.
Wise man still offers their all to the Savoir King.

2 Corinthians 4:6
For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

Christmas Story from Heavens Point of View By Brenda Drake

How beautiful is the Christmas story.  It is even more meaningful
from heavens point of view.

manger-to-the-cross

From Heaven’s View-Point

When the Christmas story is told from heaven’s point of view
Perhaps you will see better the gift bestowed on you.
The Father had placed His greatest in the care of man.
The Creator was in His creations hands.
The most precious, pure, and holy was placed,
In the young mother’s clumsy embrace.
The sweetest was sent to the world gone sour,
Born to die; to be by the earth devoured.
The Father’s wisdom into the babe was richly poured,
To be reviled by most and by some greatly adored.
The babe lay in a manger with stench to surround.
Beautiful baby born, so the truth could be found.
Angels sang an anthem of praise;
The star lit the sky to show the way.
Heaven held its breath at such love displayed,
To earth was delivered God’s provision to be saved
The Christmas story, the Easter Story and the story yet to come,
In the eyes of heaven, they are all seen as one
Soon, the One born to die, and raised up victorious; so you can be born anew,
Finishes the Christmas story, when He comes back to rule and reign with you.

Looking Back I See Ahead By Brenda Drake

  Looking Back I See Ahead

I see by faith, Mary large with child;
Assuring Joseph she was fine…trying to smile.
Surely she was uncomfortable, for she knew her time was here.
I can almost perceive her sigh as the inn drew near.
But it was not to be the place the Christ would be born.
There was no room available with a bed comfortable and warm.
In a manger lined with hay,
The head of the Son of God would be laid.
While the world was busy doing their own thing;
In a stable, was born the Savior-King.
The Angels could not contain the excitement, their voices rang clear;
So loud, the shepherds in the field could hear.
“The peace on earth” they sang about, will one day surely be.
Because, now in looking back, I see what He did on Calvary to set us free.
He, who was born in a manger, now prepares for me a place as the Word says.
I see by looking back the wonderful future that lies ahead.

Romans 1:17
For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith
