Empty Before God By Brenda Drake

Empty Before God

Hollow, empty, a void as large as God was there;
Such a futile life, full of despair.
The future was fearful; there was no place to go.
You had not what you needed, for you were not whole.
Remember life before you knew about me?
Think of how it was before the Truth you could see?
Recall how your sins were so heavy you could not carry them,
And how each time you tried to change you would fail again?
Shallow love was controlled by the self that reigned.
Recall all the heavy cumbersome chains.
Rejoice, for you are now free, rejoice because you are whole.
Be thankful for the sacrifice that saved your soul.
Trust Him that loves you so much He died in your place.
Rejoice for the gift of God, of His eternal grace.
Do not let the trials of life get you down little one.
Consider how far you have traveled, trust God and you will overcome.
Shout to the dying world, tell them all you can,
How it was with you before you took hold of God’s hand.
For you see every person feels the same void inside.
It can only be filled when in their heart the God of love abides.

Psalms 13:5-6  But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.I will sing unto the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.

Matthew 5:6  Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
