Abide in Me By Brenda Drake

            When we focus on the world’s circumstances, life at times feels dark and hopeless.   Our attitude and outlooks are our choice. It is also our choice whether or not to believe the Word of God’s promise. Salvation is a bright light that pierces the darkness of our soul. When we abide in Jesus He floods hearts with love, promise, and hope; that causes life-altering shifts of joy and deep assuring peace deep within.

Abide in Me

When your day ends and night begins,
Although the sun is not seen it still shines my friend.
When you open a door the light shines through,
Its sheen enters unless the door is closed by you.
But the light is still there. It does not change a bit;
But the shut up room loses its benefits.
A tender green branch promises fruit ahead,
A severed limb without life’s source is dead.
A branch may stay green awhile, but without strength;
When not connected to the vine, its fruit dry up and shrink.
Withered dry branches becomes a waste,
To be thrown in the burn pile- disgraced.
The Son that shines upon you never stops His shine.
When I have called you; you are mine.
When connected to the true vine, good fruit expect,
Even in the world’s harsh elements.
There is nothing able to steal this one from me,
For I watch over my chosen jealously.
But all do have free choice; I do not force to love me.
 I desire to be wanted and to be the source of every need.
So great is the desire for their Lord.
A seeking bride that waits to be with the one she adores,
My arms are open; I am calling out to thee.
Open your heart’s door for the Light to enter as you abide in me.

John 15:5
I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.  If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
